The doctors and staff at Lumley surgery are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare. We provide many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.
Please have a look around our website and do send us some feedback if you like.
When We Are Closed
Dial 111 to contact duty doctor services. You may be advised by phone, visited or invited to attend the out of hours centre at University Hospital of North Durham. For more information select 111 to bottom of the screen
Following relaxation of rules as of 19/07/2021, Great Lumley Surgery will still be making it mandatory for all staff and patients to continue to wear face masks before entering and during the time spent in the premises until further notice. We take the safety of our patients and staff very seriously, whilst trying to mitigate the risk of the COVID-19 infection spreading following NHSE guidance within a health care setting and being able to continue to offer a service to our patients amid the rising positive cases. We also request that patients/visitors DO NOT enter the surgery without an appointment and continue to wait at the door until a member of staff becomes available.
Due to the current circumstances, all appointments are currently being triaged by telephone. Please be advised that no walk-ins are allowed at present. This to protect the safety of both our staff and patients. As all of our online appointment bookings are currently suspended, due to the patient safety screening process, please contact the surgery via telephone to make an appointment. If you do have an appointment at the surgery, we ask that only the patient attends the appointment without any family members if they are not needed. This is to help reduce the footfall of patients in the surgery.
If you are looking for information regarding the coronavirus pandemic please visit the NHS website on coronavirus or the government website for regular updates.
